FAMILY PORTRAITS
Would you like to have your family photograph taken in the relaxed atmosphere of the Carrickville Community Centre?
On Friday, 5th December 2025, professional photographers Al Anderson and Alan Scott will be available to capture your family portraits. There is no booking fee or upfront cost, and you are under no obligation to purchase the photographs. Booking is required. For full Details see thew What’s’New page – link below.

New Visitor?
The centre is located in Saughton Main Street, Edinburgh. If you are planning to visit the centre for the first time, you can find out to get here on our information page. We are open Monday to Friday with occasional weekend opening for special events.
Rooms for Hire
Some of our rooms are available to hire for meetings, training or teaching. For further information, please call the centre on this number: 0131 443 6971.
Unfortunately, we cannot hire rooms for parties.
Adult Education Classes
The Centre hosts some courses in the City of Edinburgh Council’s Adult Education Programme. These include Art, Yoga, Spanish, Patchwork and Bridge. You can find more information about these, and other courses on the Adult Education Edinburgh website:
The Glass Room Cafe
The Cafe is open from 10am—3.00pm on days the Centre is open. This is a friendly place where you can meet, greet and eat. Homemade soup, hot & cold rolls, toasties, scones and more. All at reasonable prices.
